I would like to welcome you to the Walsall Chiropractic Health Clinic website. My name is Paul Malone and as Clinic Director I am honoured that you are visiting our virtual office.

Before I began my chiropractic career - you might be surprised to know that I was a chiropractic sceptic. Having sufferred with back pain since the age of 11 and being told that it was nothing more than growing pains; it was all in my head etc., the frustration and pain were put to one side and as advised, I 'learned to live with it'.

I have always been a very physical person enjoying hard work and a variety of sports, but things were getting to the point where my life was being blighted by the pains in my back. I decided that I had to do something for myself, so I started training as an osteopath in London. At the end of a successful first year I saw an advertisement in a local paper inviting people to a chiropractic open-day at a newly opened clinic. Ironically, despite what I had been lead to believe, I found what they had to say was a real eye-opener and the treatment that I received was the icing on the cake. I'll never forget that first adjustment. That day changed my life forever and that's when I decided to spend the next five years studying to become a chiropractor and to help prevent others from suffering as I had.

I trained to be a chiropractor at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic(AECC) in Bournemouth. Leaving a well-paid job and going back to student life at the age of 28 was a bit of a shock to the system but I knew that the rewards would be great. I knew that I was destined to become a Chiropractor but as is the case so often, when embarking on a new adventure, you sometimes question whether or not you have made the right decision. I went through this phase briefly in my first year, but it was very short-lived when I managed to cure my landlady's seven year old son from wetting the bed every night. Now I'm not sure who was the most surprised, him or me, because when I gently adjusted his spine it let out an almighty crunch! From that day forward he never wet the bed again.

The first two years were spent studying academic subjects such as anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiography, biophysics, biochemistry to name but a few. The last two years were spent studying clinical sciences such as radiology, neurology, orthopaedics, geriatrics, general diagnosis, biomechanics as well as human dissection and many more. My main passion was for perfecting my chiropractic adjusting technique. I tried to soak up as many different chiropractic techniques as I could, going on many different courses and further training, to ultimately develop my own unique style of chiropractic treatment. The beauty of chiropractic is that you never stop learning and your ideas and techniques are always being challenged and therefore are always changing and improving.

Walsall Chiropractic Health Clinic is just 6 miles from Birmingham in the heart of the West Midlands and therefore is within easy reach of most places in the Midlands. Our location on the ring road between Junction 7 and Junction 9 of the M6 means that we attract patients from a very wide radius. Our philosophy is at all times to be honest with our patients and deliver to them the best service and care available. We pride ourselves on our reputation and word of mouth recommendations. Over the last 12 years we have built up over 10,000 happy and healthy patients on our database. We have a very fine team of four experienced chiropractors. We have a fantastic network of local GP's and consultants with whom we regularly liaise. If chiropractic is not appropriate or suitable for an individual, then we will without reservation refer them on to another professional. We are very privilaged that patients should put their trust in our care. That is why we want to provide outstanding value to your health and your life.

We try to work on a more holistic approach to health and where and when it is necessary, we like to advise on nutrition, exercise, posture, prevention etc. Our patients range from newly born babies to patients over 100 years old; from sedentary office workers to olympic athletes; from acute injury to chronic longstanding aches and pains; All of our chiropractors are members of the British Chiropractic Association (BCA) and the General Chiropractic Council (GCC). Walsall Chiropractic Health Clinic believes in restoring patients to their optimal health in the shortest period of time.

I also have a very keen interest in sports related Chiropractic. Word has spread about our practice and has meant that we are fortunate to have many world class and Olympic athletes as our patients. I am a keen Aston Villa fan and I work very closely with the Doctor and physiotherapists at Aston Villa Football Club where the players certainly benefit from a more holistic and preventative approach. 

My loves are: being a daddy to my lovely daughter Madeleine. Going for long walks with my dog Meg. I cannot resist a really good curry. I love fine wine and food and equally a really good fresh coffee. I enjoy chatting and good conversation. I am a keen angler and walker. I just love being out and about in the countryside.

I receive chiropractic treatment at least once a week. When I am treating patients, I can really put a lot of stress on my spine. I beleive that 'prevention is better than cure' . I am fortunate to have three excellent chiropractors at my clinic but I know from experience how it feels to be in constant pain and I never want to go there again and I would definitely make sure that I had regular check-ups at least every month even if I wasn't a chiropractor myself.
